The Boeing B-52 Stratofortress is a long-range, subsonic, jet-powered strategic bomber operated by the United States Air Force since the 1950s. As a cornerstone of the U.S. nuclear deterrent, B-52s routinely flew long-duration patrols during the Cold War. Crews operating these heavily instrumented aircraft have been involved in several highly credible UAP encounters, utilizing both visual observation and onboard radar.
B-52 crews have been involved in major UAP encounters, most notably the 1968 Minot AFB incident where a B-52 tracked a massive UAP on radar.
