The Television Infrared Observation Satellite (TIROS) was a series of early weather satellites launched by the United States. Anomalies or unknown objects captured in early TIROS orbital photographs were occasionally scrutinized by UFO researchers looking for evidence of extraterrestrial craft in Earth orbit.
