The Joint Staff is the headquarters staff at the Pentagon, made up of officers drawn from across the U.S. military services, that supports the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (and the Joint Chiefs) in providing unified strategic direction and military advice. It is distinct from the Joint Chiefs of Staff, which comprises the service chiefs themselves. In the context of UAP, the Joint Staff helps standardize how anomalous encounters are reported and analyzed across the different service branches.
Establishes military-wide protocols and strategic assessments for reporting and responding to UAP encounters across all service branches.
