Muroc Army Air Field

The historical name for what is now Edwards Air Force Base in California. In July 1947, during the initial American flying saucer wave, Muroc was the site of multiple highly credible UFO sightings by military pilots and engineers. These sightings of disc-shaped objects over a highly restricted test facility were instrumental in convincing the US military to establish formal UFO investigation programs.
