The Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security (OUSD(I&S)) is a high-level civilian office within the DoD that oversees all defense intelligence and security agencies. OUSD(I&S) has played a crucial administrative role in the modern UAP era, overseeing the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force (UAPTF) and its successor, AARO. The office is responsible for briefing Congress and coordinating intelligence sharing regarding UAP threats.
